Effective the first week of June the Apple Valley Fire Protection District has gone live on the Pulse Point app.  The Pulse Point app is available for iPhone and Android and can be downloaded for FREE from the iTunes Store and Google Play.  The app notifies when a CPR call has been dispatched and shows users where the closest available Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

Early application of bystander CPR and rapid defibrillation from an AED have proven to be crucial in improving a person’s chance of surviving sudden cardiac arrest. Pulse Point is not limited to emergency responders or those with official CPR certification, as it can be used by anyone who has been trained in CPR.

The Pulse Point Foundation is a California based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to make it easier for citizens who are trained in CPR to use their life-saving skills through modern location-aware devices, our cell phones!  For additional information on the Pulse Point organization visit: https://www.pulsepoint.org/.
