Fireworks are Illegal in Apple Valley: Safety and Community First
In Apple Valley, all types of fireworks, including those classified as “safe and sane,” are illegal. This strict regulation is in place to protect our community from the significant risks that fireworks pose, including fire hazards, personal injuries, and property damage.
Citation Process
Contactless Administrative Citation
- Contactless Administrative citations WILL NOT be issued based on complaints only.
- Fireworks violation(s) must be observed by Fire District personnel or Law Enforcement.
- Photo or video documentation may be taken for evidence purposes but is not required.
- Administrative citations will be issued to the current property owner listed through the San Bernardino County Tax Assessors office.
- Administrative citations will be sent via certified mail to the current property owner listed through the San Bernardino County Tax Assessors office.
- Administrative citations are issued through the Fire District per Ordinance 56 Section 4, therefore are not forwarded to the San Bernardino County courts.
- Administrative citations may be appealed per Fire District Ordinance 56 Section 7 through a third-party consultant listed on the citation.
In-Person Administrative Citation
- Administrative citations WILL NOT be issued based on complaints only.
- Fireworks violation(s) must be observed by Fire District personnel or Law Enforcement.
- Photo or video documentation may be taken for evidence purposes but is not required.
- Administrative citations will be issued to the violator present however if violator refuses to provide information, the current property owner listed through the San Bernardino County Tax Assessors office will be named as the responsible party.
- Administrative citations will be delivered personally to the violator. If the violator refuses to provide information the administrative citation will be sent via certified mail to the current property owner listed through the San Bernardino County Tax Assessors office.
- Administrative citations are issued through the Fire District per Ordinance 56 Section 4, therefore are not forwarded to the San Bernardino County courts.
- Administrative citations may be appealed per Fire District Ordinance 56 Section 7 through a third-party consultant listed on the citation.

Noise Pollution: Fireworks can cause significant noise, disturbing the peace and affecting pets, veterans, and those with sensory sensitivities.
Environmental Impact: The debris and chemicals from fireworks can harm the environment, polluting the air and leaving hazardous waste.
