REVENUE SOURCES

Apple Valley Fire Protection District receives the majority of its revenues by way of the San Bernardino County Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector. The revenue is generated from the General Property Tax Levey and from a Special Tax Assessment, Measure A.

In November of 2016 voters overwhelmingly approved the Apple Valley Fire District’s Special Fire Tax, known as Measure A. With the passage of Measure A, the Fire District has been able to re-open and fully staff two Fire Stations that had previously been closed: Fire Station 336 on Yucca Loma Road and Fire Station 337 on Jess Ranch Parkway. Re-opening these two Fire Stations has allowed the Fire District to enhance services by reducing response times. Even if you do not live within the response area of the two re-opened Fire Stations, those stations being re-opened directly impacts a faster response time for all other local stations.

EXPENDITURE PRIORITIES

Limited revenue sources are available to Apple Valley Fire to provide for planned service levels. Over 90% of Apple Valley Fire’s revenues are subject to property valuation. Therefore, Apple Valley Fire’s expenditure priorities are as follows:
