Back in June the Apple Valley Professional Firefighters and the Fire District paired up with Mama Carpino’s to help Allan Schwartz to raise monies, so he could attend a medical facility in Kansas for an intensive 2 week course of treatment. This treatment is for a rare incurable spinal cord disease called Arachnoiditis that has afflicted Allan. Today we met up with Allan back at Mama Carpino’s for an update on his progress. After being confined to a wheel Chair for the last 5 years Allan was now able to get up and walk several feet around the room. The PFA and the Fire District would like to congratulate Allan on his progress and would like also to thank Mama Carpino’s and those who came out to support Allan. This treatment has made a tremendous improvement to Allan’s life. Once again the PFA and the Fire District are proud of our community and the support they show the citizens of our great Town!
